Movie Madness: Buried

A long time ago , like near the end of summer 2010 my friend and I were in the theaters and we saw a movie preview for Buried. The preview was so interesting because all it showed was a black screen with a flicker of a lighter and a guy screaming and talking about how he was buried alive! When I saw this I knew that I had to see this movie! Yet, I waited and waited and it never came out in theaters! Then the other day I was in Blockbuster and there it was sitting on the new releases shelf. I grabbed it find out that Ryan Reynolds was in it, which meant I had to get it! I mean who can resist him?

Basically the movie is about a truck driver who is sent to iraq to deliver things the residents. When he(Reynolds) wakes up in a coffin unsure of how he got there. All he remembers is that his truck and others were under attack by some of the local people of Iraq. Having only a lighter,  a few glow sticks, some water and a phone with a short battery life he must try and escape and get help from the American Government. Yet, he finds difficulty because the American Government won't pay his ransom, his kidnappers are making demands from him, his battery is dying and time is running.

Overall I like the movie! I wish that it had came out in theaters. Reynolds steps up to the plate and plays his part very well and you can sense his emotions through the screen. Even though it was a good movie it wasn't mind blowing therefore I would give it 3 1/2 stars. I would also recommend that you go out and rent this because it keeps your attention at  every moment.

Movie Madness: Beastly

I went and saw Beastly on Friday and was super excited but was slightly disappointed. Beastly is the new story of Beauty and the Beast. This story takes place in NYC where a boy plated by the very good looking Alex Pettyfer who places a lot of emphasis on looks. After winning school president because of his charming good looks and not actually caring about the position at all, he makes enemies with the schools outcast who happens to be a witch played by Mary-Kate Olsen. The witch puts him under a spell that makes him ugly and he is forced to find someone to love him within a year. After being transformed into his uglier version his dad moves him out of the city into a secluded home with his maid and a blind tutor. Vanessa Hudgens plays the part of the girl who captures his heart and who he must make fall in love with him and say it within their year together.

Overall I would consider this a DVD movie, meaning I wouldn't go see it in theaters its not really worth it. But is worth renting on DVD for a night at home. Within the movie I would say that all of the characters are underdeveloped and you really do not get a since of who they are. The idea for the movie was really good but they could have taken it further  since the movie was short and they had a lot of time to work with. Even the music was a little odd at times and awkward. The best part about the movie was Mary-Kate Olsen and seeing her back in the films! It is no doubt that she played her part very well and was very convincing. I hope she continues to do more films. All in all, I would give this 3 stars at the most.

Tell me what you thought of the movie if you seen it and let me know if this is helpful
